We rescued Rosa in May of 2020, as we saved her before she was shipped to slaughter. She had always been used as a broodmare and bucking horse, and was completely untouchable and terrified of humans.

After spending the first three months at the farm gaining her trust, we were able touch her and she would walk up to us to get pet. Our goal is to get Rosa completely handleable and safe to place her in a forever and understanding home after she foals.

She was pregnant and due to foal, and went into labor on March 25, 2021. Unfortunately, Rosa's labor did not go as planned and after being in labor for almost 24 hours, we had our vet come check her out. After examination, we decided that the most humane thing to do was to end her suffering and let her cross the Rainbow Bridge.
We will miss this beautiful girl.
