LUNA
Luna was an 18 year old Paint mare that was sold to us as a riding horse for kids for our riding program. She was the sweetest horse and loved everyone . Unbeknownst to us, Luna had a neurological disorder (the people that sold her to us knew it, however did not inform us of it) and she started tripping and was unsafe to be ridden. We decided we would let her be a pasture ornament and live out her life but it was not meant to be... After many vet calls and trying many different drugs, she just deteriorated to the point of not being able to walk without falling down. It was the first time I had seen a horse deteriorate that fast and it was absolutely horrifying. With our vets assistance we decided to help Luna cross the rainbow bridge with dignity and be surrounded by people that loved her. We are so sad that her life ended but we are thankful that she wasn’t on the slaughter truck, sold for meat by the ruthless people we got her from.
